It was important for the Florida State coaching staff to make sure Moses enjoyed his visit. There were rumblings that McCray was leaning elsewhere, and it didn't help that fans had been clamoring about his MySpace page. Moses stated that the visit showed him that FSU is the place for him. He stated, "It was a great visit. Everything about it was great. I just soaked in the environment and had fun. I was committed to FSU coming into the weekend and I'm solid now. I'm done with visits. I am real firm with my commitment to FSU."
Keeping McCray committed to them is very important to FSU because of the suspensions going into next year, as well as the loss of defensive tackles Andre Fluellen and Letroy Guion. One of the topics discussed was the potential for playing time that FSU will be offering Moses. "I talked a lot with Coach Haggins about the playing time I'll be seeing next year. He was telling me that I'll be playing right away. I think if I stay where I'm at with my size and stay in shape I'll be ready to roll when I get there," stated McCray.
One of the traits the 2008 class for FSU had formed is that they've become a tight-knit unit who get along well with each other. They've formed a belief that they'll be the group that leads FSU back to the "dynasty era". One of the recruits McCray has formed a bond with is early enrollee Terrance Parks, who was McCray's host this past weekend. Moses explained, "Terrance was my host this weekend. We get along great. I've known him for a while now, but it was kind of different now that he is actually on the team now. Between him and the other commitments there this weekend we all had a great time. We are ready to get it going."
Moses told NoleDigest that he spent time with friend and FSU recruit Lerentee McCray, another official visitor this past weekend. When asked about his thoughts on the visitors, Moses pin-pointed Lerentee, saying, "To tell the truth I hope he comes to FSU. He's my friend from home. He said and looked like he was having a good time, so we'll see what happens. I know a couple other guys were having fun but I don't remember their names. Overall, everyone enjoyed their visits this weekend."
With his recruitment wrapped up and his commitment solidly in place, McCray stated that he is turning all his attention to making states this year in wrestling. "Now I am going to focus on wrestling," stated McCray. "Right now I am undefeated in the heavyweight division. I'm trying to get back to states this year but this time I want to win. Last I was 6th on an injury default. I like wrestling because it helps me stay in shape."
Moses McCray is one of the top defensive tackles in Florida this year. His early commitment to FSU was huge at a position of need. McCray, who says he is on the Honor Roll and fully qualified, looks to be an integral part of this class and is excited to get to FSU in the summer.
