FSU expecting weekend visitors

Florida State is now in the home stretch towards signing day. This weekend the Seminoles are hosting 6 recruits who are making their official visits. NoleDigest takes a look at the group coming in and discusses where the Noles are at with them at this time.

Florida State is hosting 5 offensive players and one defensive player this week. Unlike last weekend, the majority of the recruits in town this weekend are commitments. Below is a breakdown of the players the coaches are expecting:

Jermaine Thomas: Earlier this week we caught up with the underrated Thomas to gather his thoughts on his upcoming visit. Leading up to this weekend there had been talk that LSU was going to be a major player in the end. Even though Thomas is listening to what the coaches from LSU have to say, there is a very minute shot that Jermaine doesn't sign with FSU on Signing Day.

Avis Commack: Avis is one of the top athletes in the state this year. In a very deep year for receivers across the nation, Commack more than holds his own. He excels on the hardwood and also is one of the top track athletes in the state. He told NoleDigest that since his commitment in the early summer he has for the most part ignored the schools trying to talk to him. For Avis the visit this weekend gives him a chance to learn what college life will be like next fall.

Ja'Baris Little: Ja'Baris played several positions his senior season for Lincoln, but will play tight end for the Seminoles next fall. Little is another solid commitment for the Noles, and he is part of a trio of former Trojans the Seminoles are looking at.

Zebrie Sanders: This has been one of the wackiest recruitments this year. Almost two weeks ago he was primed to become a Gator, but we know how that played out. Yesterday NoleDigest was told that he committed after Rick Trickett pulled his offer after an in-visit earlier this week. Most likely this is another David Spurlock situation where a silent commitment is made public after a good visit this weekend. The chance this kid signs with FSU in a few weeks is very good.

Josh Gehers: Gehers is a 2-star wide-out who put up some startling statistics his senior season. He averages a ridiculous 38.3 yards per catch and was one of the top touchdown catchers in the Tallahassee area with 13 scores. He is an excellent student on and off the field. Florida State has not officially extended an offer, but there has been talk that he could possibly be a greyshirt. Gehers does have scholarship offers from Iowa, Michigan State and Memphis.

Nigel Carr: The standout linebacker is coming off one of the best individual All-Star game performances of any player this year. After dominating practices all week in Orlando, Carr proved that he is one of the best linebackers in the nation. Nigel has been of the top recruiters for the Seminoles and is as solid a commitment as they come. For Carr this weekend is going to be a weekend to sit back, watch and enjoy. After making numerous unofficials throughout the season, this will be Carr's chance to get an inside look at the program.
