Lonnie Pryor is one of the top players in Florida for the 2008 class. He excels at several different positions, but is a stand-out running back. This weekend he will be making the trip to Tallahassee to visit Florida State for their Junior Day. For Pryor he gets a chance to visit the school that is leading for him at this time. "I'm leaving Saturday and will be their Sunday for their Junior Day. I'm excited because I haven't been there in a while. I've been to Florida three times, but I haven't had a chance to get up to Tallahassee," stated Pryor.
When John Lilly took the job at Georgia Pryor lost the coach who had been his primary recruiter early in his recruiting process. Lonnie said that there are a few other coaches he talks to on a frequent basis and that when he gets to FSU he wants to see who'll be recruiting him next year. He said, "When Coach Lilly went to Georgia I lost the guy who was recruiting me. I liked him, but that doesn't influence my thoughts on FSU. Hopefully they can find someone else to recruit me, and I want to be able to see and meet who that will be this weekend. I talk to some of the coaches every weekend, and they are still out front for me."
Last weekend Lonnie made the trip to Gainesville for the Gators Junior Day. He said he had a good time, saying, "You know I've been there three times. I had a good time there seeing everything. We went to the basketball game against Vanderbilt, and that was fun. They are one of the schools I am considering in this process."
While Pryor's recruiting journey is just beginning, he tells NoleDigest that, at this time, he intends on going through the process and sign on Signing Day of 2009. "I'm planning on going through the whole process. I'm going to take 5 official visits. I know I'd like to see schools like Auburn, LSU and Oregon. I'd probably take 5 visits out of state because I can go to the in-state schools at any time. Right now I have a top 5 of Florida State, Florida, USF, Wake and North Carolina. The list always changes, but FSU is always number 1 on the list. Its safe to say they are leading the way," expressed Pryor.
Pryor is one of the top playmakers on FSU's target list for next year. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands and he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. NoleDigest will have a more in depth interview with Pryor after his visit to Tallahassee this weekend for Junior Day. Stay tuned!
