Spetman named FSU's new Athletic Director

Today, Florida State University announced the new Athletic Director.



Randy Spetman was named Athletic Director this morning. Spetman, 55 and a graduate of the Air Force Academy, surfaced as the leading candidate out of a search coordinated between national consultant Chuck Neinas and FSU President T.K. Wetherell.

The Utah State Athletic Director also held the same position at the United States Air Force Academy for nine years.

A graduate from Squadron Officer School, he attended the National War College and earned a master's degree in National Security Strategy. Spetman also holds a master's in management and supervision from Central Michigan University.

He was a member of the Mountain West Conference Championship Committee, Handbook Committee and Television Committee. He was also the third vice president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
