Lonnie Pryor Diary Entry #2

Last week NoleDigest started a feature with standout running back Lonnie Pryor were we get an in-depth look at his recruitment. This week he talked about a few new offers, whose Junior Day he checked out this past weekend and among other things his conversation with Florida State running backs coach Dexter Carter.

Last week Lonnie Pryor talked about some of the schools he liked, how his school work was going, and his reasoning for growing up such a big fan of the Florida State Seminoles. This week in his 2nd entry he talks about some new offers he received, his trip to UCF's Junior Day, and his talk with Dexter Carter from this past week.

Entry No. 2

This week was good. On the 14th I got a full scholarship from N.C. State. My coach told me they offered me and I was like that's cool. I haven't really talked to the coaches and haven't really thought about them as a possibility.

On Wednesday I got another full ride to Alabama. I talked to Nick Saban for like 5 minutes. We talked on the phone about the university and stuff like that. I don't know too much about them, but I know where Nick's been. I don't know anything about them and I may go look at them, but I'm not really considering them to be honest. Bobby Williams is the running backs coach and he is the main one recruiting me.

I've had a lot of reporters calling this week for updates. It's cool. I talked to some guy from North Carolina and a guy from an Auburn site. That was alright.

On Saturday I went to UCF's Junior Day. I didn't know it was that big there. The facilities are good; not the best but they're nice. It's a big campus with a lot of stuff to do. There are places to eat and hang out all over. I had a good time and it was nice to go visit. I met the running back coach there and that was nice. I really cannot see myself going there, though.

This week I called Dexter Carter at Florida State. We talked for about 10 minutes. That was a fun conversation. He talked to me about taking my time with this process. He was telling me not to rush it and about how he took his time when he went through it. He wanted me to make sure I visited everything and everywhere I wanted to see. That was really nice to hear. It was a good thing because I want to take my time. I really liked that a lot about him. I tried to call Coach Jimbo Fisher too, but he didn't answer. I'll try him again in a day or two.

I went to the local flea market today and had a Florida State license plate made for the front of my truck. I had an FSU hat on too, and when I walked into my house my family asked where I was going. I told them to look at the front of my truck. They thought I seriously made a decision and started making plans about renting a RV to go to the games. I got it because I really like them. It'll match my truck which is Florida State red. I plan on buying some of those flags you put on your car, too.

That's really all that happened this week.

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for Lonnie's next journal entry as we follow him as he goes through this once in a lifetime experience.
