Tallahassee, Fla. - Second-ranked Florida State (21-2, 9-0) hits the road for a three-game conference set for the second time in as many weeks as the Seminoles travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (11-11, 4-4). Florida State has won five straight in the series and 21 of the last 25 games. FSU leads the all-time series 65-18, while holding an 18-5 edge on the Demon Deacon's home turf.
Last season, FSU won all four games including a first round match-up in the ACC Tournament. The first two games were one-run victories by the Seminoles including an 11th inning win thanks to a Jack Rye walk-off single. The Seminoles outscored the Deacs 33-12 in the four-game sweep in 2007. The 65 victories are the second most against an ACC opponent (Miami, 131).

In ACC Play
Dating back to the final series of the 2006 season, Florida State has won 13 of its last 14 ACC series including eight sweeps. The lone series the Seminoles lost during that span was to Clemson last year as the Tigers took 2-of-3 from FSU in Tallahassee. Already in 2008, Florida State has swept Maryland, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech to start the season 9-0 in the conference. FSU remains the lone undefeated team in the ACC and has a 4.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division. The Seminoles are off to their best start in the conference since starting 13-0 back in 1999. This marks the third time in school history that FSU has started the season undefeated through the first nine games. In 1996, the Seminoles ran out to a 17-0 start.
Divisional Conference Breakdown
Now in its third season of using a division breakdown in the ACC, Florida State has posted a record of 24-8 against teams in the Atlantic Division including a mark of 9-5 on the road. FSU is 4-1 vs. Wake Forest since moving into divisions. The Seminoles are 25-11 versus teams in the Coastal Division. Last year, FSU claimed its first ACC Atlantic Division title en route to earning the No. 1 overall seed in the ACC Tournament. With a mark of 24-6 last year, the Seminoles set the school record for the most conference wins in a season surpassing the previous record of 22-2 set in 1999. The 24 victories also tied for the most wins recorded in ACC history (Clemson - 24 in 2006).
