Brazinski on FSU offer: I was shocked

Mark Brazinski is a 6'3 290 lb center from Immaculata High School in Somerville, NJ. Brazinski was recently offered by Florida State. NoleDigest had the opportunity to speak with Brazinski about his recruitment. Read on to find out where Florida State stands for this talented New Jersey player.

How many offers do you have?

MB- I currently have three. Rutgers, Boston College and Florida State.

What are the most important factors that will play a role in your decision?

MB- First, academics. There is life after football. Next would be the offensive line coach because you will be spending a lot of time with that individual. The surrounding atmosphere would be next.

What are your current thoughts on FSU?

MB- The offer came out of nowhere. FSU never really sent me any mail. I had a chance to speak with Coach Coley. I know (FSU) is in the ACC. I know they are rivals with Miami. I know about the tomahawk motion that the fans do at the games.

Are you excited about the offer?

MB- Yeah! All of the Florida schools have a lot of big hype around here. I was shocked. It's kind of surreal.

Do you have a timeframe for your decision?

MB- Well I was planning on making my decision in June but with all these new offers I may have to push it back. If I need more time I will not make an early decision.

Do you have any plans to visit FSU?

MB- I am looking to visit in May. We are going to try. Everything needs to work out though as far as plane tickets, etc.

Have you had a chance to speak with Coach Trickett?

MB- Not yet. Coach Trickett is coming to visit sometime during the evaluation period. I know he made the decision to offer me. He's also supposed to call as well.

Can you speak about the other schools that have offered you?

MB- Rutgers- It's 15 minutes from my house. It's an up and coming program. I also like the O-line coach.

BC- Small college proportional to my high school. It's a very, very good academic school.

If you had to describe yourself as a player what would you say?

MB- I'm a smart and yet aggressive player. I am pretty good at base and run blocking but yet I have light feet for pass blocking.

Bonus info on Brazinski- He plans on attending the Penn State Nike Camp. He runs a 5.0 40m. He bench presses 360. He has a 3.6 GPA. Last season, Mark had 84 pancake blocks. He's also only 16 years old.
