Lonnie Pryor Diary Entry

In this week's diary entry, Lonnie Pryor talks about the start of his senior season, how he thinks his team will be this year and his goals. Also, he talks about the latest conversation with the Florida State coaches and gives his thoughts on the big announcement from FSU this week on the starting quarterback.

Entry No. 21

My senior year got started last week in a preseason jamboree we had. I only played a half but I had 106 yards and 1 score. This week it really gets going as we're playing Jupiter Christian. We're really pumped because it's a big game for us. They're from a smaller class but they're talented.

Our team only has 23 players so we aren't a deep team, especially at linebacker and offensive line. We've had some injuries early on and our quarterback got hurt. He hasn't practiced too much but I think he'll play this week. We have injuries all over but if we can get better and stay healthy I think we will be good this year. My personal goals are rushing for 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Overall things have been good. School is going fine. There's nothing really too hard with it. I'm just getting ready to take these tests and get that out of the way. I'm concentrating on finishing high school strong this year. This week we have our first pep-rally so I am excited about that. It's the first real game and I cannot wait.

I saw where Christian Ponder was named the starter. I kind of had a feeling that's who'd get it. FSU has to win now so they need to play the best player they have at that position. I feel for Drew because he has been starting for so long, but sometime it doesn't work out.

I talked to Coach Fisher, Coach Coley and Coach Carter this week. They were just checking on me to see what I've been up to. They told me about Tavares Pressley getting hurt. They're really excited about me coming up there. I can't wait. They want me to come up to as many home games as possible. I know for sure I'll be at the Florida game, and I will probably be at the Wake game, too. I'm going to do my best to make all of the home games this year.
