Seminoles dominate Western Carolina, 69-0

The Florida State Seminoles (1-0) defeated Western Carolina 69-0. The Noles had 22 true freshman play in their first game ever. QB Christian Ponder played well in his first career start ever with 3 TD's. Fellow redshirt sophomore D'Vontrey Richardson accounted for 3 TD's himself. Tony Carter opened the scoring by returning a punt 68 yards for a TD. QB Christian Ponder played well in his first career start with 11-17 196 yards and 3 TD's. QB D'Vontrey Richardson went 5-6 passing with 1 TD and 70 yards rushing with 2 TD's. The Noles had 22 true freshmen see playing time for the first time ever. FSU outgained Western Carolina 561 to 176. This was the largest victory margin in Florida State history.
