Q: What kind of problems can a team like Florida State create?
A: They have a lot of athletes. Their wideouts are big guys that run, and they still have big, physical offensive linemen. They may not be where they are, say five years ago, but they still may be the best team in the ACC, we will see, because they definitely have some talent.
Q: Talk about how Blue Cooper's injury will impact the game.
A: Having Blue (Cooper) out for the game will have an effect on the game. Fortunately, we have some receivers that have some talent, and they will have to step up and play. We are also going to have to deal with injuries to Joel Bradford, who has a knee issue, and Garrett Hughes, with his fractured hand. That is really going to test our depth at the wide receiver position this weekend. Losing Blue definitely hurts, but it really hurts when you lose other guys that can fill in for him.
Q: Is there a certain player for Florida State that can really cause problems for you?
A: They have great players. I think their defensive ends are pretty good. One thing I am concerning about is their kickoff return team. They have one guy that is really fast. One thing that hasn't changed for Florida State over the years is its speed. That has been its trademark for a long time. They are still a fast team on both sides of the ball.
Least-Penalized SoCon Team in 2007
The Mocs led the SoCon last season in fewest penalties.UTC was penalized a league-least 41 times for 382yards or 34.7 yards per game. UTC ranked second in the nation in both categories behind Bucknell. The Mocs were called for only two penalties Sept. 22 at Georgia Southern, matching their week-one total of two. Chattanooga have opened the 2008 season with 13 penalties (47.0 ypg).
While the Mocs return Skrine from injury, there are some questions in other positions as the week goes by. Erroll Wynn's wrist is still problematic although he is expected to start. Other probables include LBs Joseph Thornton (hamstring) and Doug Faatiliga (hand). WR Blue Cooper is out this week with an elbow injury. LB Steven Smigelsky (ankle) is still out along with seniors Brian Hefl in (back) and Bryan Fitzgerald (knee) who are out indefinitely.
