Offense- B.Offensively Florida State had another pretty good day numbers wise. The offense had 494 yards. Both quarterbacks contributed five touchdowns (Ponder-3, Richardson-2). Antone Smith had a solid game on the ground with 78 yards rushing. FSU went over 200+ yards for the second consecutive week in net rushing yards. While the WR's had some big plays there were way too many drops. The offensive line had their moments but they also had a couple penalties and blown blocks. While the offense started off to a strong start, they only managed to score twice in the second half.
Defense- B+.Defensively Florida State had a really solid game. The Seminoles only had one really negative play on defense that led to a touchdown. FSU only gave up 164 yards to UTC. The Mocs only had 29 yards rushing for the entire game. Florida State must convert those pass break-ups into interceptions. LB Kenny Ingram had the hit of the day and he also had the awareness not to celebrate but jump on the ball to force a turnover. Everette Brown, Markus White, and Moses McCray were all very active on the defensive line. FSU will need that solid effort again next week against Wake Forest.
Special teams- C.The only positive from special teams was a blocked punt and a made field goal. Florida State missed two field goals and an extra point for the second straight week. Hopefully Graham Gano will be available to kick next week.
