Keys to a Nole' Victory over Clemson

#24 Florida State Seminoles host the Clemson Tigers this afternoon in Doak Campbell Stadium at 3:30. The Seminoles will try to end the current streak of losses against the Tigers.

1) Stop C.J. Spiller. Spiller is the best player on Clemson's team. He can change a game in one play whether it's in the backfield, at receiver, or on special teams. He's 3rd in the nation on kick return yardage. Spiller is averaging 140 all purpose yards. James Davis is a very good back as well but Spiller is the home-run threat.

2) Special teams are big today. Florida State must cover kicks well or they can be in for a long day. Clemson has two track runners returning kicks for them (Spiller, Jacoby Ford). Graham Gano is having an excellent season for the Seminoles. Gano will play a huge role in the game this afternoon. Preston Parker, Taiwan Easterling, and Tony Carter will have to step up as returners for the Noles'.

3) Go deep early and often. Clemson has a very solid defense. They don't give up many points on defense. QB Christian Ponder will have WR Corey Surrency back, and his favorite target from last week WR Greg Carr ready. Even though the Tigers have a tough defense they do give up some big plays.

4) Pressure Harper or Korn. The two quarterbacks for Clemson have never played a game in Doak Campbell Stadium. Clemson's line has had to deal with a couple of injuries up front. Korn is the more mobile of the two signal callers. Florida State will try to apply pressure early and often.

5) Be Aggressive!
