Offense- D. Florida State's offense accounted for 285 total yards. That was their second lowest total for this season (Wake Forest). The offense also had 3 (interceptions) turnovers. The biggest play for Boston College's defense was an interception returned for a TD. Boston College's defensive line controlled Florida State's offensive line all night. The best offensive play was a pass by WR Preston Parker to fellow WR Greg Carr, who made an incredible adjustment to find the football. The leading rusher for the Seminoles last night was Kicker Graham Gano with a 24 yard fake punt. That tells you all you need to know about the offensive rushing production. QB Christian Ponder added a 4 yard TD run. The receivers (Parker, Carr, Owens, and Fortson) tried to pick up the slack left by the suspensions and they definitely held their own.
Defense- D.. Florida State's defense gave up a total of 357 yards. They did force a couple of turnovers (2 fumbles, and 1 interception) which was positive. The defense was killed by penalties which resulted in first downs and conversions for the Eagles. Neefy Moffett had the biggest play for the defense forcing a fumble on a sack. They also allowed BC to covert 9 of 16 attempts on 3rd downs which is extremely high compared to what they have been giving up all year. QB Chris Crane had all day to throw and Florida State's blitz was not effective at all last night. Boston College's offensive did an excellent job of controlling FSU's defensive line.
Special Teams- B. Graham Gano made one of two field goals. Graham had a huge play on 4th down when he a 24 yard scamper allowing Florida State's offense to continue the drive. Gano's punts were probably his worst of the season with an average of 32 yards. For the most part special teams did a solid job last night.
