Offense- F. The offense had 242 total yards (102 rushing yards and 140 passing yards). They had 4 turnovers and had the ball for 26:04. QB Christian Ponder struggled against Florida completing 5 passes on 14 attempts with 2 interceptions. Backup QB Drew Weatherford completed only 4 passes out of 15 attempts and was sacked three times. The Seminoles were nowhere near their season rushing average with gaining barely over 100 yards against the Gator defense. The receivers struggled yesterday dropping a couple of passes. The offense had multiple opportunities in the red zone and came up kicking field goals. Not to mention decent field position to work with due to Michael Ray Garvin or Taiwan Easterlings' returns.
Defense- F. The defense played their worst game of the season giving up 502 total yards. The last time the Seminole defense gave up that most points in first half was in 1989. The Florida offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage negating any pressure on QB Tim Tebow. Florida rushed for over 300 yards. The defense created only 1 turnover in the contest.
Special Teams- B-. The Florida State Seminoles did some very nice things on special teams. Kick returner Michael Ray Garvin had probably his best game of his career as a returner. Graham Gano made three field goals. FSU attempted a fake field goal that failed miserably. Nor did FSU field any punts last evening. And a onside kick that could not have been kicked any better was recovered by a Florida player.
-Jermaine Thomas for his TD run
-Michael Ray Garvin for his kick returns averaging 30+ yards per return
-Derek Nicholson for his forced fumble
-Neefy Moffett for his fumble recovery
