Aubrey Phillips is one of the top offensive lineman in the country after being named a High School All-American. Many FSU fans want to know how the visit went for the Mississippi prospect. Aubrey goes into detail about his visit to Florida State. "The visit went well. Coming into the visit I wanted to see how the coaches were with the players, the facilities and the players as a team. Even though I am committed to Tennessee I wanted to come into the visit open minded to see if I can see myself playing 4 years at FSU".
"I spent most of my time with coach Trickett. He said they have a program that fits me as a player. We got a long really well. We were cracking jokes with each other and all that. He told me he is a hard nosed coach, and that while he loves you, he's hard on you. I'm okay with that. As long as I come in, work hard and prepare coach said I could play early there".
"Antwane Greenlee was my host. He was one of the coolest players I have met. I spent most of my time with him, Moses McCray and Cameron Wade. We hung out and went out. I liked Tallahassee, especially the fact I could wear shorts in the winter. Greenlee answered a lot of my questions on how it is there as a player, student and how the coaches are".
"The visit went well. I'd give it a 8.5 and it gives me something to think about. I really enjoyed myself and feel I could contribute at FSU early. This visit gives me a lot to think about with my decision".
"Next up is Auburn. Coach Bowden is coming in next week for an in home, and the rest of the schools are coming in too. Having Coach Bowden in my house will be cool because it's not every day one of the winningest coaches will be in your house. Not everyone can say that. It's a big honor for me".
So did FSU do enough to change Phillips' mind? "I'm committed to Tennessee's old staff. I want to take these visits to see what fits me best and to see where I fit in best. On Signing Day I will make my decision after all the visits are done" said Phillips.
