Dunkley is going to give Noles a serious look

Chris Dunkley is arguably the state of Florida's top receiver for 2010. The talented playmaker has seen his recruitment get off to a fast start as he has dozens of offers from programs all over the nation. NoleDigest caught up with Chris to get the latest with his recruitment, and to see if FSU will be apart of his process.

Chris Dunkley will be one of the most heavily recruited athletes in Florida for the 2010 recruiting class. Every in-state program has offered, as well as schools from across the nation. The game-breaking wide receiver caught 40 passes for nearly 600 yards and 6 scores as a junior, and it is that ability that colleges see when it comes to Dunkley. Chris told NoleDigest that he isn't sure the exact amount of schools that have offered, but he does like some of the schools that have offered already.

"I don't know how many schools have offered me, but I know it is a lot of offers," said Dunkley. "The whole process is going to be educational and a good experience for me, and I feel like it is going to be an experience of a lifetime."

"Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia and West Virginia are 5 schools that have offered and that I like," continued Dunkley. "North Carolina, Tennessee, Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, South Florida and Nebraska are some of the others off the top of my head."

Last year there was talk that Chris committed to Florida. The Gators are Dunkley's childhood favorite team, but he says he did not make a commitment. According to Chris he is coming into the recruiting process with an open mind.

"I never committed to Florida last year," Dunkley said, "but early on I was favoring them a lot. My uncle is a big fan so I went to a lot of games. I do like Florida but I am looking at everyone. I want to give some of these schools a fair shot. I like the in-state schools. With Florida State they've been telling me that I'd have a fair shot to come in and play early, and that I could be an impact player for them."

Often time's recruits befriend each other throughout the recruiting process, as is the case with Chris and close friend DeJoshua Johnson from Pahokee. When asked about the two possibly going to college together Dunkley said there is in fact a chance the two could be a package deal.

"DeJoshua and me are really good friends and we talk about playing in college together all of the time," explained Dunkley. "I don't want to go into too many details but we do have some schools that we both like the same, so we will just go from there."

When it comes time to make his decision Chris said two things will play a major role in his decision: his mother and the quarterback the school has.

"My mom plays a big role in my life so whatever school she feels is going to be the best will be a big factor," said Dunkley. "I also want to go to a school that has good balance at the quarterback position. I will be looking at who the school has at quarterback now and who they're brining in in the future. I want to make sure there's someone good there."

At this time Dunkley has no plans to make any visits as he's participating in track. He did say he'll probably attend team camps over the summer, as well as Friday Night Lights at Florida and Seminole Showtime at FSU. Chris will be making his decision at the UndeArmour All-American game, so look for his process to go well into 2010.
