Louis Gets the Offer He's Been Waiting For

James Louis is one of the top two-way threats in the 2010 recruiting class. The Atlantic High standout is approaching 30 offers, which shows the talent and potential he has on the next level. NoleDigest caught up with James to get his thoughts on his recruitment and to see if the Seminoles will be a team that'll play a role in his recruitment.

Atlantic High star James Louis can play on either side of the ball in college. As a junior Louis caught 56 passes for 1,128 yards and 12 touchdowns, showing why 24 colleges want him on the offensive side of the ball. On defense Louis showed remarkable playmaking ability as a safety when he had 42 tackles to go a long with his 10 interceptions.

This past week James got an offer from the school he followed as a kid when Florida State offered him. What separates the Seminoles from the other programs that have offered is that the ‘Noles want Louis as a defensive back. James told NoleDigest that the offer was one he was waiting for, and that while he wants to play offense in college, he is open to the offer from FSU.

"I've been waiting for this offer," Louis said of Florida State. "Coach Dawsey called me up and told me they were officially offering me and that they'd love to have me there."

"Right now I have 25 offers from schools all over," continued Louis. "Florida, Miami, LSU, Tennessee, USF, Illinois, Georgia, Auburn and a bunch of others are the schools that have offered me as a receiver. Right now my preference is to play wide receiver in college. Right now that is what I want but the offer from FSU to play defense gives me something to think about. I just like getting the ball in my hands."

James told NoleDigest that the offer from the Seminoles is a big deal for him and that it means they'll be in it throughout. While FSU is his childhood favorite, Louis favors another in-state program at this time.

"I've always been an FSU fan so I was excited when I got the offer," said Louis. "They're going to be in it regardless. I've never been up there but I am trying to get up there in the summer."

"I have Florida as my top school right now because I feel like I am a perfect fit for their offense," continued Louis when asked who his favorite was. "I've never been there but I'm going to their spring game. I like the coaching staff and I like how they see me as another Percy Harvin type. They've done a good job of recruiting me."

The 5'11" 182 pound prospect will make his decision over the summer after he makes a string of visits. He says he is looking for a good fit and a good program, and that is what he'll be using his visit for.

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with James, as well as the rest of the recruits from the 2010 recruiting class.

James reports a GPA of 2.5 and says he's scored a 20 on the ACT.
