NoleDigest's Take on Dan Schneider:
Avon Lake (OH) standout tight end was in town this past week to make an unofficial visit to Florida State. When he was offered by the Noles Dan immediately put them towards the top of his list and talked about making the trip down for a visit.
With 17 offers Schneider has a good list to choose from, but it Dan says that he's planning on trimming his list down very shortly. What helped FSU is that he made a visit before he plans on doing that. The visit went very well, as he told NoleDigest:
"My father and I went down and had a lot of fun. We met the coaches, toured the campus and saw the facilities. It was very impressive to see, and the people there were great. I didn't expect to see what I did. Up here is Ohio you think Miami with palm trees and all that. But Tallahassee was more northern than I thought. I really liked it a lot. I talked to Coach Coley about the football stuff and I talked about the academic stuff with the counselors. I got along pretty well with the coaches."
Coming up next are visits to Michigan and Ohio State. After those visits, look for Dan to trim his list. Schneider isn't quite sure yet on who is going to make his list, but he did say that FSU is a school he is very interested in and that they will be on the list.
FSU is looking to sign 2 tight ends, and it looks like Neil Basford is very close to being the first to join the 2010 class. It is too early to tell who the second will be, as the group of others looks to be Schneider, Trent Smiley, Jarrett Darmstatter, Kevin Haplea and a few others.
