NoleDigest.com's Take: Eduardo Clements
I don't have to explain the history of Eduardo Clements' recruitment and Florida State. Clements expected an offer early on his junior season, but it never came. After FSU started offering other recruits at his positon Clements was wondering what was going on, especially when he was considering making an early commitment to his longtime favorite.
Earlier this spring Clements got his offer from the Noles but he hesitated on putting FSU at the top of his list. Instead Georgia had the top spot locked in, and FSU was among a group of schools chasing the Bulldogs.
This past week Clements took a visit to Georgia. All reports say the visit went great, and now Georgia has solidified their lead. NoleDigest asked Clements where the Noles stand and he said they were "slipping" down his list.
NoleDigest spoke to someone close to the program today and there is some concern with what is going on with Eduardo. To put it bluntly, FSU has a few backs they like more than Clements, but they want Eduardo because he is good enough to play at FSU, and he is an in-state kid that potentially could get other recruits to follow him. The board is deep at this position, and Clements is below the top tier that FSU has targeted.
If Clements goes through with his plans to possibly make a decision (he told NoleDigest that he is going to Michigan for a visit and then may make his decision after), it doesn't look good for FSU.
