What's the Latest with Terrence Mitchell?

Terrence Mitchell had a busy spring as he took part in spring practice with his football team, and he was busy making a run to the state championships in track. Overall the spring was a success for Mitchell. NoleDigest caught up with the 4-star to talk about his recruitment and to see if the Seminoles are still his leader at this time.

Terrence Mitchell is rated as Scout.com's #12 cornerback prospect for the 2010 recruiting class, and he is one of the best in an ultra deep class in Florida for this year. As one of the better athletes at his position Mitchell excels in more than football in high school as he is also one of the top track athletes in the state. Mitchell has a busy spring juggling both sports as college coaches converted over Hillsborough to check out Terrence on the gridiron, and he was busy trying to win states in 3 different events in track. Overall things went well this spring for the talented corner.

"Spring went great for me as we did really well on the field and I did well in track," said Mitchell. "Even though we had guys sitting out we were able to win our game over Chamberlain. I think we set ourselves up for the fall. In track I missed out on the 100 this year but I did get second in the long jump and triple (jump)."

Mitchell says that a ton of schools came by to see him over the spring. With his offer sheet sitting at 20+ offers he says the same school still sits out front for him.

"Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Miami and North Carolina were some of the schools that came to see me and they also offered me," said Mitchell of the schools who visited him. "Even though I am still pretty open I have to say that I am still feeling Florida State right now. I like them a lot and I had a really good time when I went up there to watch them practice. Coach Fisher and Coach Dawsey came by to see me this spring. That was the last time I talked to them because I don't think they can really call now."

The 5'11" 160 pound corner says that right now he isn't in any rush to make his decision as he intends on taking all of his official visits.

"Right now I am just working out and focusing on getting bigger, stronger and faster," said Mitchell. "I don't have any plans on committing until I take all of my visits. I'm not going to be looking at any new offers that come in, and the only official I know for sure I will be taking is to FSU. I just want to take these visits and see what happens."

Mitchell says that he doesn't intend on attending any camps this summer as he wants to work out and get ready for his senior season.
