ND Post Spring Recruiting Board: Athlete

Over the next few weeks NoleDigest will be looking at the Post-Spring Recruiting board for Florida State. After scouring the country checking out recruits, the coaches at FSU have seen their board change as interest has grown in some, while others have either committed to other schools or slipped down the list. In this installment we look at the athletes and where they could possibly play.

Florida State is recruiting several recruits that have the capability to play more than one position on the collegiate level. For most of the prospects on this list it is more about how they develop over their senior seasons.

1) Darius Cummings: Darius is listed here because it has yet to be determined if he'll play defensive end or defensive tackle at Florida State. The long-time commitment was initially considered a future defensive tackle in college but he has yet to add the weight to his frame to make that move a possibility. Right now defensive end looks more realistic as Cummings is 6'2" and 250 pounds.

2) Brandon Willis: The same can be said about Brandon that is said about Cummings. Brandon is bigger at this stage than Darius, but some wonder how much more Brandon can add to his frame. With his low center of gravity many have thought that the 6'4" 255 pound Willis would make a great tackle. FSU still likes him there, but end has been mentioned. Schools like Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida and others are looking at him as a guy they'd just like to sign, and then figure out when he gets on campus.

3) Jared Haggins: USF and Louisville are looking at Haggins at quarterback while FSU, Ohio State and others like Haggins at either wide receiver or free safety. When it comes to FSU many feel it depends on who the Seminoles sign at wide receiver this year on where Jared would play. Ohio State is offering early playing time at free safety and that has caught the Lakeland standout's attention.

4) Jeremy Deering: Deering has a recruit who saw his recruitment explode over the spring as he showed great versatility as a running back and defensive back. The Tampa-Leto star has been a dual-threat quarterback in high school that has found most of his success running the ball. FSU, North Carolina, Arkansas, USF, Purdue and others offered him as a running back. Some feel he'd be a very good defensive back in college.

5) Jamius Gunsby: Gunsby is a guy who has a load of talent, but there are some concerns if he's a QB on the next level. He's making the rounds this summer as he camps at several different schools. He has already camped at Florida and earned an offer from them. He will be at FSU's camp July 10th so the coaches can get a better look at him.
