Catching Up with Kenny Shaw

Kenny Shaw has been one of the most heavily recruited wide receivers in the state of Florida for 2010. NoleDigest caught up with Kenny to see what the latest with his recruitment is and to see what his plans are over the next few weeks.

Kenny Shaw is arguably one of the more underrated recruits in the nation for the 2010 class. With an offer sheet that includes Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, LSU, Michigan, Alabama, Miami, West Virginia, Ohio State and a host of others, it is easy to see why Shaw is one of the most coveted players in Florida. While nothing much has been going on his latest offer from Georgia excited the Dr.Phillips standout.

"Nothing much has been going on other than my latest offer is my 26th, and it is from the Georgia Bulldogs," said the 3-star wide out. "I was excited when I got that offer because I like how they threw the ball around this past year."

Florida State has stayed in constant contact with Kenny, and the Seminoles have long been his favorite school. At this time nothing has changed in that regard. He told NoleDigest that his relationship with the coaches at FSU is what really makes them stand out.

"I stay in contact with Coach Dawsey and Coach Trickett almost every day," said Shaw. "I've talked to a whole bunch of coaches which is nice, but the relationship I have with the FSU coaches is something special."

While FSU has stayed out front Shaw says he hasn't been close to making any type of decision. He did say he has a soft top 5 and that there are some schools that are gaining on the ‘Noles.

"I haven't trimmed down my list yet but I have a rough top 5 of FSU, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama," explained Shaw. "This process is kind of fun. There are a couple schools gaining on FSU and I will just leave it at that."

Shaw will be visiting Seminole Showtime next week and he plans on attending the Top Gun camp in Orlando instead of Friday Night Lights in Gainesville.

"I'm going to Showtime on the 18th and I was going to go to Florida's camp but I got invited to the Top Gun passing camp at Disney for 3 days," said Shaw. "I'm just looking to attend these camps so I can enhance my game as a wide receiver and make my game more polished."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Kenny, and look for an in-depth update with him at Showtime next weekend.
