Jones: "I Love Tallahassee"

Christian Jones has been favoring Florida State for some time now. This past weekend he made it to town for Seminole Showtime but did not participate. NoleDigest caught up with Christian to talk about the visit and to see if he is any closer to making his decision.

Lake Howell standout linebacker Christian Jones has been busy this summer playing basketball, but in the meantime he has been paying attention to what is going on on the recruiting front. Last weekend he was in town for Seminole Showtime. He did not participate because he had been playing basketball for 3 straight weeks, therefore he came to town to relax and check out the event.

"The visit was really good," Jones said, "and I enjoyed myself a lot. "It was good talking to the coaches again. I just had a fun time in general with the former NFL players there and other recruits that I hung out with."

Christian told NoleDigest that he had the chance to talk to two former Seminole greats in Derrick Brooks and Chris Weinke. He said he tried to get some advice from them regarding recruiting in general.

"It was cool seeing the guys like Derrick Brooks and Chris Weinke that have been around before," said Jones. "I talked to them about life at FSU and about recruiting in general. They were telling me to make sure I pick a school where I'd like to go if I didn't play football."

Christian was hanging out with several recruits on hand throughout the day. He said FSU commitment Darius Cummings was working him hard all day long, as was new commitment Corey Miller.

"Darius was telling me how I needed to just come and commit and get it over with," said Jones. "Corey Miller was telling me that I just needed to go for it, and Brandon Willis was talking about it too. I love Tallahassee and it did cross my mind, but right now I am going to stay open and keep my options open."

Christian will be heading to the 7-on-7 in Orlando this weekend and says that he may head up to Florida for Friday Night Lights. If he does attend look for him not to participate as he's been playing basketball for 3 straight weeks and wants to conserve his energy for the camp in Orlando.

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Christian, as well as the rest of the recruits from the 2010 recruiting class.
