Miller on FSU Commitment

Corey Miller's commitment to Florida State was one of the highlights of Seminole Showtime. NoleDigest caught up with Corey earlier this week to talk about his commitment and his time in Tallahassee last weekend.

Florida State has been recruiting Byrnes standout Corey Miller for quite a while now. Earlier this month the coaches hard work paid off as FSU made Corey's top 5 schools. After trimming his list Corey said he wanted to take some visits to evaluate his schools.

Last weekend all of that talk ended as Corey realized FSU was the place for him to be. Between sitting in on meetings, hanging out with the coaches, and meeting up with fellow recruits, Miller ended his recruitment by committing to FSU.

"I am excited about what happened this past weekend," said Miller. "FSU is a great place to be and they have some great years ahead of them. With the coaches, the players like Everett Dawkins and Justin Bright and the commitments, there are just a lot of things right about FSU."

Corey did tell NoleDigest that he didn't plan on committing coming into the weekend, but the environment and atmosphere he saw caused him to go ahead and pull the trigger.

"My commitment wasn't planned at all as I was going down to Showtime to hang out with the coaches more," explained Miller. "I got along so well with the other commitments. They have a winning mindset and I like that about them."

One of the commitments that were working Miller hard was Darius Cummings from Astronaut High.

"Darius was talking a lot about FSU and we hit it off very well," said Miller. "When he found out I committed he was really excited and started jumping around. He is a great dude."

For the camp itself Corey says working with Coach Allen and some of his former players was the highlight of the camp.

"I had a good time working with Coach Allen," explained Miller. "It was fun, real fun, working him and some of his former players. Coach is a straight forward guy. I think he is great and I like that."

With his commitment out of the way Corey says he is focusing on his senior season and helping build up this class so it can be one of the nation's best.

"With this done I can focus on my season and school," said Miller. "I will be graduating in December. I'm happy that I will be able to get down there, prepare in the weight room and hopefully play early."

"I am going to work on helping the class starting with Brandon Willis," continued Miller. "I think I will be able to get him."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Corey as we track his senior season.
