Catching up with Christian Green

Christian Green has been as busy as any recruit in the nation this summer as he has attended several elite passing camps and made several unofficial visits to schools he's been looking at. NoleDigest caught up with Christian to get the latest with his recruitment and to see if he is in fact down to a final 3.

Tampa Catholic athlete Christian Green has had an impressive summer as any recruit in the nation. From standing out at 7-on-7's like the Gridiron Kings in Orlando to making several unofficial visits to a bunch of schools, Green has been busy since the summer started. Green says that one reason he has been so busy is that he'd been trying to take the whole recruiting process in stride.

"Right now I am just getting ready for our season," said Green. "I feel like I had a pretty good summer. I did pretty well at the camps I went to and I got a chance to talk to a lot of coaches. It was a good time and I learned a lot of things. For me and my decision it was great for me. I've been trying to make this an open process where I can see everyone and find out where I can make the most impact."

Christian says that he has his list to a final 3 now but that there are two other schools still in the running.

"My top 3 schools are Florida, Florida State and Georgia," Green said, "but I am keeping around USF and Tennessee. The 3 schools are the ones sticking out to me the most so they are the top ones for me."

Green told NoleDigest what he likes about his top 3.

Florida: "I have been there like 8 times because it is right up the road for me. I like the coaching staff there and you have to give them credit for being good recruiters. They know how to make you feel good and welcomed."

Florida State: "They have a good group of wide receivers but I can go there and help them. The coaches have taken a team approach with me. I talk to Coach Dawsey a lot, and Coach Fisher, Coach Trickett and Coach Coley are coaches I have spoken to. FSU is a school I like and I would look at them even if my family didn't go there. I am trying to not let that play apart of my decision."

Georgia: "I went up there for an unofficial and I liked it a lot. I like Coach Richt and I think there are good people there. I know a couple kids from Tampa that have gone up there so that would be good for me. It was my second time there. I enjoyed the players and I think they are going to have a good season."

There's been a lot of internet gossip out there in terms of who Green likes and what school he'll commit to. Christian said that the only part of the gossip that is true is that he plans on making a decision pretty soon.

"I know there is internet gossip out there but I am trying to make my decision here coming up," said Green about his recruitment. "It is probably going to go into the year a little bit because I want to see what direction these teams are heading. Sooner or later I will make my decision."

Christian is planning only one official visit but he did say he is planning a trip to Tallahassee for FSU's game against Miami on Labor Day.

"I'll only take my official to Georgia because FSU and Florida are in state schools I can go see," explained Green. I have been to those schools so much so want to use my official for an out of state school."

"I am trying to get up to FSU for their game against Miami," continued Green. "I have to see how my schedule is for that week but it is the Miami game. I have to check that out because it is a big rivalry and that is a game I want to see."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Christian as we track his recruitment over the next few months.
