Johnson: "They Know What's Up"

Recently there's been some talk that DeJoshua Johnson has warmed up to Miami a little bit. Those rumors were ignited more this past weekend when Johnson went to the Miami game instead of Florida State's final home game. NoleDigest caught up with DeJoshua to see what's going on with his recruitment and to see if he is softening up his commitment.

DeJoshua Johnson has been a firm commitment to Florida State since he made his pledge back in June. The 4-star wide out has been to a few home games for FSU and had all of his focus on getting Pahokee back to the state title game.

DeJoshua sparked some debate this past week when he was spotted at the Miami home game against Duke this past weekend instead of making the expected trip to Tallahassee to watch FSU's final home game of the season. Miami has been making a run at Johnson but he says there really isn't much to it and that the coaches at Miami know what's up.

"Miami has been telling me to come there, make a difference and join their program," said Johnson of Miami. "They are trying to get me but they know what's up with FSU."

Johnson did say that while his commitment is firm he still plans on making all 5 of his official visits.

"Yeah, I am going to take all 5 of my visits," said Johnson. "I don't know where I am going to visit yet but really I just want to get out of the house and see some other places."

Florida State has stayed in contact with the Pahokee standout and he says he spoke to Coach Dawsey today.

"FSU is always in touch," Johnson said, "and actually today I talked to Coach Dawsey. He was telling me that he is coming down either Monday or Wednesday of this upcoming week. I can't wait."

Johnson sprained his foot in the surprising loss to Chaminade-Madonna last week. With his senior season over DeJoshua plans on turning his attention to getting ready for track. Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Johnson, as well as the rest of the commitments from the 2010 class.
