This week has been a great week for Florida State in terms of recruiting, and it wrapped up with a huge pull when Treasure Coast middle linebacker Jeff Luc committed on his official visit.
Jeff has been laying low since his decision but NoleDigest caught up with his brother Alex to talk about Jeff's decision. In the end it came down to comfort for Luc as FSU was the place Luc felt the tightest bond with the coaches and players.
"You know how Jeff is with laying low and doing too many updates," said Alex, Jeff's brother who's been helping Jeff through the process. "It is a done deal with FSU. He always wanted to go there. There had been some uncertainty with the coaches and they were losing, and he wanted to see what else was out there and what other schools were offering."
"What played a big role in Jeff committing is that there is some clarity now," continued Luc. "Things are shaping up. It came down to schools like Florida, USC, Georgia and Alabama for Jeff. They were all offering pretty much the same things. Jeff was looking for something familiar and comfortable. His coaches and players at his high school are tight, and he felt that at FSU. He has a bond with the coaches and players."
While Luc didn't find out who'll be coming in as the next defensive coordinator they feel comfortable with where FSU is going.
"FSU has a lot of tradition so they are not going to go out there and just hire any coach," said Luc. "They're going to get someone who is good and that is what they needed to do. There are a few names out there."
Alex said that Jeff is on pace to achieve his goal of enrolling early.
"Jeff is still on track to enroll early," said Luc. "All he needs to do is finish his on-line classes. He will be good after that."
NoleDigest is going to try to get in contact with Jeff when he gets home from his official. Until then stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates on this huge commitment for FSU.
