Michael Harris Talks FSU Official Visit

JUCO corner Michael Harris was in town this past weekend for an official visit. After committing to Florida State less than 2 weeks ago Harris came into the visit looking to compare it to his visit to Ole Miss last weekend. Did the visit firm things up for Harris or give him something more to think about?

Michael Harris committed to Florida State recently without making a visit to check out the school in person. This past weekend the El Camino standout was in town making his official visit.

Last weekend he held his word to the Ole Miss staff and made the visit there even though he had committed to FSU just a few days prior. After a great visit Harris initially seemed like he had some things to think about, thus making the visit to FSU important in terms of the Seminole coaching staff firming things up. From all accounts the ‘Noles were able to do that and much more.

"It was great and I loved everything about it," said the 3-star commitment. "It solidified my decision for sure. I really liked how the players got along well with each other, and I love the coaches there. I spent a lot of time with Henry Orelus, Nigel Bradham and Greg Reid."

"I liked the tour I went on," continued Harris on what made his visit so good. "I liked the facilities and I feel like I am going to do well there."

Coach Coley has been the main coach recruiting Harris for FSU, but this weekend was Michael's first chance to spend time with all of the coaches on staff. Harris told NoleDigest that the coaches are excited to get him on campus and that they plan to slide him into Patrick Robinson's spot.

"The coaches are ready to get me on the field," said Harris. "They want to use me like they used Patrick Robinson. While we didn't talk about schemes too much we just talked about how there is an opportunity to play early. I like that a lot."

Harris says he plans on speaking to his future defensive coordinator and position coach sometime this week.

"I haven't gotten the chance to talk to Coach Stoops since it came out that he was coming, but hopefully I get a chance sometime this week."

With his commitment firmed up Michael is turning all of his attention on completing the necessary classes to graduate from El Camino. While he won't be here in January he says he'll for sure be at FSU come May.

"I've got the 2 classes in winter and then I am done," Harris said, "so I will be graduating in February. I will be at FSU in May. I can't wait."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Harris, as well as the rest of the commitments for FSU's 2010 class.
