FSU Ends the Year with a Bang as Elam Commits

Florida State's 2010 recruiting class got another huge boost Thursday afternoon as Matt Elam switched his commitment from Florida to Florida State.

Florida State's recruiting class started picking up steam earlier this month when Jeff Luc and Lamarcus Joyner committed.

Thursday the class got a gigantic shot in the arm as Dwyer athlete and the nation's best safety Matt Elam switched his commitment to the Seminoles.

FSU's coaches have been working Matt hard the past few months as they have given him something to think about. When the news of Urban Meyer's future broke the damn broke, so to speak, given the Seminoles the shot they needed to finish off what they started with Elam.

Throughout Elam's recruitment FSU offered the standout defensive back a chance to come in and contribute when he steps on campus. That was one thing that sealed the deal for Matt.

"I want to be a game changer that brings FSU back," said Elam. "That helped them in the end. I can change things for FSU." In the end the uncertainty of Meyer, added with the chance to be a difference maker at FSU, are the factors that led to the switch. While some may be shocked by this development it is something that has been in the works over the past several weeks. FSU's hard work paid off, and now they are getting one of the best players in the country regardless of position.
