Official Visitor Rundown

This weekend starts what is sure to be a busy month with official visitors for Florida State. NoleDigest looks at the targets visiting this weekend as FSU will be hosting four visitors.

Florida State will be hosting a plethora of official visitors this month as National Signing Day is less than a month away. This weekend the Seminoles will be hosting 4 defensive recruits, all targets that play a position of need.

Holmes Onwukaife

The rundown: The lone commitment visiting this weekend, Onwukaife has been committed to FSU since July. The Texas standout has been firm in his commitment while other programs have tried to pursue him and attempt to get him to switch his commitment.

Impact of the visit: Holmes has been a recruit who's been in contact with other recruits, so look for him to be active this weekend with 3 uncommitted prospects in town. Onwukaife told NoleDigest that he is excited about the visit and has been eagerly anticipating getting back to Tallahassee for a visit as he genuinely loves the town itself.

This visit will sure up everything for Holmes and it gives him a chance to meet the new coaches that have been added to the staff.

Terrence Mitchell

The rundown: Mitchell has been favoring FSU throughout his commitment even though he denies a true leader. Other schools like Georgia and South Florida have been strongly considered.

Mitchell plays a position of need for FSU and he has been one of the ‘Noles top targets throughout the 2010 recruiting cycle. FSU will look to lock up Mitchell this weekend as he is planning on making his announcement sometime after the visit is completed.

Impact of the visit: With his commitment around the corner FSU must roll out the red carpet for Mitchell. He had an outstanding visit to Georgia and South Florida has busted their tails recruiting the hometown standout.

Mitchell told NoleDigest that he is looking forward to this visit because it gives him a chance to familiarize himself with the new defensive coaches. Terrence hasn't been to FSU since Seminole Showtime so look for FSU to give him the 5-star treatment.

Darrin Kitchens

The rundown: Kitchen is a new name that has popped on the FSU radar over the past several weeks. The Homestead standout's breakout senior season (75 tackles and 19 sacks) has led to several BCS programs like Florida, FSU, Michigan, USF and others to show interest. At 6'3" 205 pounds Kitchen posses the speed and athleticism colleges are looking for in an outside linebacker.

Impact of the visit: Kitchens hosted new FSU coach Eddie Gran this past week, coming away from the visit wanting to visit the Seminoles. While an offer hasn't been extended at this time FSU's interest in Darrin is growing. Coming into the visit Kitchen is favoring Florida and Syracuse with USF and FSU trailing. Kitchen has already visited Syracuse and Florida will host Darrin next weekend.

Darrin has stated that he is looking for a good college, playing time and a chance to compete for championships. FSU is looking to show him this weekend they can provide Darrin all of those factors.

We'll see after the visit if they'll become a legitimate option for Kitchens.

Jeremy Deering

The rundown: Deering has been one of the quietest recruits when it comes to updates. Jeremy doesn't put too much out there with regards to where he stands, but things are falling into place as he has already taken officials to Purdue and Illinois, and it looks like Rutgers may get a visit at the end of the month (he has taken an unofficial there already).

Deering is a versatile athlete who can play multiple positions. Jimbo Fisher has taken a liking to Jeremy and he is the main recruiter for the Tampa-Leto prospect.

Impact of the visit: It is hard to truly gauge what the visit will do for Jeremy until he does an update about the visit. The Seminoles have turned up the interest in Deering and they like that he can play multiple positions.

Early in his recruitment Jeremy was interested in going out of state for college. Florida has shown interest lately and now FSU is turning up the heat. He admits that he is interested in FSU so a good visit could go a long way in his recruitment.
