Feeling right at Holmes

Holmes Onwukaife has been committed to Florida State since July. This past weekend, the Texas native took his official visit to Tallahassee and couldn't have had a better time. Onwukaife says the visit was great in many different ways and really firmed up his commitment to the Garnet and Gold.

This past weekend, three-star linebacker and future Florida State Seminole Holmes Onwukaife traveled cross-country from Leander, Texas to Tallahassee, Florida to officially visit his home for the next four years.

To make Onwukaife feel right at home, fellow Texan Dustin Hopkins was his host during the weekend.

"Dustin was great," Onwukaife said. "Especially being a Texan, we had a lot in common. I had a great weekend with him."

Getting to know his future coaches was a big concern for Onwukaife and he had a great time talking with them on his visit.

"The highlight of the visit I would say was getting the opportunity to sit down with all the coaches for a quality amount of time and get to know them better," Onwukaife said. "The visit was important to me because it gave me to opportunity to get aquatinted with the coaches and players and see what FSU is all about."

For Onwukaife, who has been committed for several months, meeting the new coaches and especially Coach Hudson, his future position coach was very exciting.

"The new coaches are wonderful," Onwukaife said. "They are young and full of energy. I am so eager to get down there.

"Coach Hudson was great," Onwukaife added. "I can't wait to get things started with him."

Clearly, it was an outstanding visit for Onwukaife and he says he is absolutely a Seminole without any doubt.

"The visit firmed it up," said Holmes. "As a student-athlete, I want to just become a leader off and on the field and turn the ship around."
