Visit Preview: Tye Ready for FSU Official

Will Tye has been one of Florida State's top offensive targets since they offered in the fall of 2009. This weekend Tye is taking his official to FSU to see what it is like in person. Some feel a commitment is imminent. Tye addresses that and more in an update he did with NoleDigest Tuesday evening.

Salisbury School standout Willie Tye may not be rated high when it comes to his position ranking, but many feel he is one of the most underrated recruits on the east coast. At 6'4" 235 pounds Tye is a threat on both sides of the ball but Florida State has been recruiting him as a tight end. Now that his season is over other schools are now trying to get into the picture with Tye as Signing Day is quickly approaching.

"Things have going pretty well recently and other schools are gaining interest in me," said Tye of his growing recruitment. "Penn State and Tennessee have been in touch and are trying to get some more film on me. Tennessee was here 3 days ago and I have talked to Penn State recently. Otherwise it's been the same and I am happy with the process."

This weekend Tye will be in Tallahassee for his official visit. The Seminoles have been a leader for Tye for a while now. That fact has led to some assuming a good visit may lead to a commitment. Will told NoleDigest that is a possibility.

"I have my visit to FSU this weekend and I am looking forward to it," explained Tye. "I'm anxious to see how the coaches are and I want to see the campus. I also want to get to know some of the players. I am exited to spend some time with Coach Coley. I talk to him a lot. We talk about more than just football. They've told me they like me as a tight end and wing back. I hope to talk about that some more, too. Also I want to meet Coach Fisher. We've talked a few times. I think he is the right man for the job."

"I've been leaning towards FSU because of the coaches for sure and because there is a comfort level there," continued Tye. "I have FSU on top, then Penn State and then it is wide open. Depending on how the visit goes there is a good possibility I may commit. I've been talking to my mom about this and she said she is okay with it (his decision) as long as I follow my heart. I will just see what happens after the visit and go from there. If I do commit I still may make a visit but more than likely I'd be done with my recruitment."

Teammate Bjoern Werner will be visiting FSU too this weekend. While the two have talked about going to college together Tye says both are anxious for the visit.

"We're pretty close and we talk about how it would be nice going to the same school but we are still looking at schools on our own," said Tye. "We've talked about this visit this weekend and I'd say we are both excited."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for a post visit update with Will, as well as the rest of the official visitors that'll be in town this weekend.
