Damien Jacobs was a recruit Florida State got on early and landed a verbal commitment from before other BCS programs jumped in. Jacobs is from a small town in Louisiana, but he still has been dominating this year in 5A.
Jacobs is a must get for the Seminoles because he plays a major position of need at defensive tackle. Since his commitment several coaches have stayed in touch with him, but Coach Haggins has been the primary one to maintain contact with Jacobs.
"I think the new staff is going to be great," said Jacobs. "The main coach that has stayed in contact with me has been Coach Haggins. We talk a lot but the main thing we talk about is how we are about to do special things."
Jacobs has been to FSU a couple times over the past year, and this weekend he will be making his official visit. While he's seen a lot about the program on his previous visits he told NoleDigest that he wants to spend some time with the current players this weekend.
"I am going to be coming on the visit a lone," said Jacobs. "On this visit the one thing I am looking forward to is meeting the players and finding out what they think. There is nothing I need to see in particular."
Jacobs says he hasn't been up to much since his season ended.
"I've just been in the weight room and chillin' really."
Stay tuned to NoleDigest for a post visit update with Jacobs.
