Nigel Terrell committed to Florida State in August of 2009. When he made his decision he was firm as he was comfortable with the Seminoles. Since then he's opened up his recruitment as schools like Colorado and Ole Miss are coming hard at him.
One of the reasons Terrell has been open to other programs is because of the unfamiliarity with the new coaches and the direction of the program. He told NoleDigest Thursday that he wants to make sure on his visit that FSU is the place for him to be.
"The biggest thing I want to do over the weekend is reassure myself that FSU is the place I want to live for the next few years," said the 3-star linebacker. "I want to make sure I get that at home feel again from them."
Another goal for Nigel over the weekend is to familiarize himself with the new coaches on staff. Nigel says the old regime has been in touch with him, but he hopes to get to know the new coaches while he's in town this weekend.
"Coach Fisher and Coach Haggins have been in touch with me," said Terrell. "I have no idea about the new coaches. That is what I am hoping to find out about them when I make my visit."
Terrell says that he's been getting ready for track season and staying up on his class work. Academics have been tied to Nigel's recruitment but he says he is looking good at this time.
"Pretty much I have been getting my body ready for track," Terrell said, "and I have been working hard in the classroom. "My grades are okay now, but I am not sure what my GPA is."
Nigel will be accompanied on his visit by his mother and brother. After this visit he is scheduled to make officials to Colorado and Ole Miss. When asked if he'll make those visits if he sees what he needs to over this weekend he had a simple, one word answer.
Stay tuned to NoleDigest for further updates with Nigel after his visit this weekend.
