Seminoles sweep Jackets

Florida State took care of the home court once again by defeating No. 18 Georgia Tech in exciting fashion Sunday afternoon.

Chris Singleton scored a career high 23 points to lead Florida State in their season sweep of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

With just 22 seconds left to play, the Seminoles trailed the Jackets 65-66. Center Solomon Alabi was then fouled after grabbing a rebound and headed to the line looking to play hero for the home team. In that situation, most teams would want anyone but their center at the line, but Leonard Hamilton was just fine with it.

"There's no one we'd rather have up there," Hamilton said. "He's got ice water in his veins."

Alibi stepped up and sank both of his free throws giving Florida State a one point lead which they would not relinquish as the Tribe went on to win by a final score of 68-66.

"I've done this so many times in practice," said an exhausted Alabi after the game. "I tune everything else out."

Alabi finished with 14 points and seven rebounds to compliment Singleton's 23 and seven in Florida State's fifth straight win over Georgia Tech.

The win moved Florida State up to a tie for second place in the ACC with a huge road game on the horizon as the Tribe will travel to No. 7 Duke Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 9:00 pm and will broadcast live on ESPN.
