FSU Offers Georgia Standout Lineman

Over the next few months new names will be popping up as Florida State offers prospects from the 2011 recruiting class. One of the newest offers went out to Georgia lineman Watts Dantzler from Dalton, GA. NoleDigest caught up with the mammoth offensive tackle to talk about the offer and to get the latest with his recruitment.

Watts Dantzler has seen his recruitment take off early on in the 2011 process as he is approaching 20 offers before the spring evaluation period starts. Big-time programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Clemson and a host of others have officially offered the 6'7" 305 pound offensive tackle.

On Thursday Dantzler got another huge offer as Florida State sent him a written offer. Watts told NoleDigest that it was an offer he wasn't expecting, but it is an offer he plans to look into.

"Yeah I got the written offer from FSU yesterday (Thursday)," said Dantzler. "I was kind of shocked to be honest. They've sent me mail but they didn't invite me to any games or anything this past year. The letter I got from them was hand written, so I read it and I was like oh dang, they offered me."

FSU is a program Dantzler doesn't know much about but it is a program he wants to research more.

"I haven't talked to any coaches yet, but FSU is a school I want to visit," explained Dantzler. "One of my friends used to live there and he said it's awesome so I'm going to try to get down there for a visit."

Recently Dantzler announced a top 5 list. He says the list is where he stands right now but that he is open to a host of other schools.

"Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are my top 5 schools for right now, but I'm still open to all schools," said Dantzler about his recruitment. "Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, South Carolina and now FSU since they offered are schools I am looking at."

Watts is still growing into his body as he hit a growth spurt over the past year. He says that his size and agility are things that make him stand out.

"I'm 6'7" and 305 pounds and I've got pretty good footwork for a big guy because I play basketball too," Dantzler said when asked about what makes him stick out as a player.

While the Dalton, GA lineman isn't close to making a decision he does know the factors that will play a role in his recruitment.

"I'm looking for a place I really feel at home at," Dantzler said, "and I am looking for a Christian coaching staff. I am also looking at the tradition of the program."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for more with Watts, as well as the rest of the recruits that'll be gaining attention from the Seminoles in the 2011 recruiting class.
