FSU Pursuing GA Defensive End

Florida State's been out and about so far for the 2011 class as they've sent out a number of offers already. Xzavier Dickson is one of the best defensive ends in Georgia for this upcoming class. NoleDigest spoke to him about his recruitment to get the latest details.

Griffin High standout Xzavier Dickson has been one of the more heavily recruited players in Georgia so far in the 2011 class. The 6'3" 235 pound defensive end has an impressive early offer sheet as some of the south's top programs have already offered.

"I'm not really sure how many offers I have right now but the main offers I know of are from Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State," explained Dickson of his offer sheet. "It kind of surprised me that I have all of these offers so early and that I am being recruited this heavily. I thought I'd get recruited but this makes me happy."

FSU extended an offer recently to Dickson, and he says they like him as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker at this time. He told NoleDigest that he has interest in FSU because of their tradition and style of play.

"FSU offered recently as a defensive end/linebacker," said Dickson. "Coach Haggins was telling me how the school is and all that. I am interested in FSU because of the tradition and history they have and I like the way they play defense."

Dickson says that while he has room to grow as a player he feels he does some things well that make him stand out.

"I am trying to work on things like foot speed and stuff like that," Dickson said, "but I am a good pass rusher and I have the discipline to play the run well."

Playing time and education are the two main factors going into Xzavier's decision. While he has visited some schools and plans on attending Junior Days here over the next few weeks don't look for a decision from Dickson until after the season.

"I have visited Alabama and Auburn and those visits were good, and I am planning on visiting FSU the 20th and Georgia the 27th for Junior Day," explained Dickson. "I am going to make visits and I won't make my decision until after the season."

Stay tuned to NoleDigest for more from Xzavier as we track his recruitment over the next several months.
