Story Talks FSU Visit

Ja'Juan Story's recruitment is picking up as he is turning into one of the top wide outs in Florida for the 2011 recruiting class. Story recently took a visit to Florida State to check out the program and to meet up with the coaches. NoleDigest caught up with the Nature Coast standout to talk about the visit and to get the latest with his recruitment.

Nature Coast standout wide receiver Ja'Juan Story has seen his recruitment really pick up lately, especially after a good performance at the ESPN UnderArmour event in Bradenton last weekend. Story says that he now stands at double-digit offers with interest from others growing.

"Recruiting is actually going pretty well right now," said Story. "I have 13 offers now. The schools that have offered are FIU, Iowa State, Louisville, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pitt, USF, West Virginia, Florida State and now Rutgers. They just offered me today."

"Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas Tech and Georgia Tech are recruiting me also," continued Story. "I don't know why they haven't offered me. Some of the coaches say they don't want to offer me because another did; they want to get to know me and I want to get to know them."

Ja'Juan recently took a mid-week visit to Florida State to check out the school and meet with the coaches. While it wasn't his first visit to FSU he did come away impressed with the things he saw.

"I grew up and FSU fan and so is my mom," explained Story. "It was a fun visit. It's not too far from him and I think it's a nice campus. I like the facilities, the stadium, and the way it looked inside of it. I was there for a Junior Day last year with my brother who's now at Eastern Arizona, but this time I got a chance to really go around to different places and see everything. It was great and I see no flaws there."

Story met with several of the coaches at FSU but spent most of his time with Coach Fisher, Coach Dawsey and his primary recruiter, Coach Eliot.

"Coach Fisher is the greatest," said Story of FSU's new head coach. "He knows football and he knows teenagers; he connects really well, is nice, and he is cool to talk to. He was telling me about the sports medicine program they have there, and he was talking about how they could develop me into a pro. That is what I want to do, but I also want to get my degree. Coach Dawsey was telling me the things he could do as a coach to help me. We had some small talk. Coach Eliot is real nice. We talk a lot and I like him."

Story claims no favorites at this time as he plans on taking his time with the recruiting process.

"I have no top schools as I plan on getting to know all of the schools and all of the coaches that are recruiting me," said Story. "I don't want to rush into a decision and go somewhere and realize it's not for me. I am going to take my time and find the best place and the best opportunity for me."

Depending on his track and 7-on-7 schedule Ja'Juan plans on taking in some more Junior Days and camps over the next few months.
