Time to dance!

For the second consecutive season, Florida State was able to sit back and relax on Selection Sunday. There wasn't the question of ‘if' FSU would be invited to the Big Dance, but rather ‘who' would they play once they received that invite. That question was answered Sunday evening when the NCAA announced the bracket to this year's NCAA Tournament.

Florida State will head to Buffalo, NY as a 9 seed to take on the 8th seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs this Friday in first round action of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

The Bulldogs went 26-6 this season and are led by guard Matt Bouldin and forward Elais Harris into this year's dance. Key wins during the season for Gonzaga include Wisconsin, Illinois and Cincinnati.

If Florida State plans to make a deep run into the tournament, they will have to overcome a bracket which includes Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Florida, Butler, Pittsburgh and Kansas State.

The Seminoles will look to avoid another first round exit as the 12th seeded Badgers of Wisconsin upset the Tribe in the opening round last season.

The Seminoles received their second consecutive bid to the Big Dance after an impressive regular season in which the Tribe won 10 conference games and 22 overall. Top quality wins on the season for the Seminoles include Wake Forest, Marquette, Virginia Tech and beating Georgia Tech twice. Four of the Seminoles' nine losses come to two teams as both Maryland and North Carolina State swept Florida State.

Stay tuned to NoleDigest as we will break down Florida State's first round matchup against Gonzaga later this week.
