Greene is #12 for the Seminoles

Florida State hasn't landed a commitment since early spring. The dry spell ended today as the Seminoles landed one of the state's top play makers in Rashad Greene.

Rashad Greene has been favoring Florida State for several months. While other programs like Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia and others were showing heavy interest it seemed only a matter of time before the St. Thomas product decided to become a Seminole.

Thursday while attending the Jimbo Fisher Camp Greene decided the time was right to go ahead and wrap up his recruitment. He told NoleDigest that while on the visit he felt like it was home.

"I committed to Coach Dawsey, Coach Fisher and Coach Gran," said the 4-star wide receiver. "I really felt at home at FSU. I always knew I wanted to go there. This visit sealed it for me that this is where I wanted to go. It was good, but it was more like I felt I wanted when I was there. I always get excited when I come up there. I just couldn't wait any longer. FSU is the place for me."

Greene has arguably been the top receiver target for the coaches at FSU so getting his commitment was a large feather in their caps. Landing Rashad means the Noles are more than likely done at wide out for 2011. Greene says he, his family and the coaches shared a special moment when he made his decision.

"Coach Fisher, Coach Dawsey and Coach Gran all jumped up with excitement when I committed," said Greene. "It was emotional for me and my family, and it was also emotional with Coach Gran. My parents are very proud of me and they like FSU. The coaches told me they are done at wide receiver for this year. I plan on bringing all I have to offer on and off the filed for FSU."

With around 30 offers in hand there are a ton of schools that have been in pursuit of Greene's commitment. He says he is done with the process and now will turn his attention to St. Thomas.

"I am focusing on my senior season now that my commitment is out of the way," said Greene. "National Champions at St. Thomas is the goal and that is where my attention is going to be. I will not be taking any more visits. I am done (with recruiting)."

Rashad has high expectations for his time at FSU and he had something he wanted fans to know.

"The Noles are on the way to another National Championship," said an excited Greene.

Stay tuned as we track Rashad's senior season.
