Noles in the League

Despite a less than stellar decade on the field Florida State remains one of the schools that has the most NFL players. The league cut down to 53 man rosters this weekend, read on to see which Noles will be playing on Sunday this season.

Offensively FSU has zero Quarterback's in the NFL right now(that will change next year). At the Running Back spot, Leon Washington(Seattle) and Greg Jones(Jacksonville) are the only two still in the league. Jones was on the bubble, but Coach Del Rio loves the sledgehammer which bought him another year. Anquan Boldin(Baltimore) is the ONLY WR currently on an NFL roster. While he is one of the best in the league, it is more than a little alarming to actually see that. To be fair Preston Parker(TB) made a team and Coles/Walker could find themselves suited up this year down the road.

The offensive line is paced by Montrae Holland(Dallas), Alex Barron(Dallas), and Mario Henderson(Oakland). Long snapper Garrison Sanborn(Buffalo) also made a roster. This is another spot that will receive a talent infusion over the next 3-4 years with some of the guys we have on our roster.

Seven defensive linemen will play on Sunday's: Chauncey Davis(Atlanta), Travis Johnson(SD), Brodrick Bunkley(Philly), Andre Fluellen(Detroit), Letroy Guion(Minnesota), Everette Brown(Carolina), and Darnell Dockett(Arizona).

The linebacking core is also very deep with five players: Geno Hayes(TB), Kamerion Wimbley(Oakland), Ernie Sims(Philly), Lawrence Timmons(Pitt), and Dekoda Watson(TB). It was nice to see Watson get an opportunity in Tampa.

The secondary is headlined by Antonio Cromartie(NYJ), Patrick Robinson(New Orleans), Bryant McFadden(Pitt), Chris Hope(Tenn), and Myron Rolle(Tenn-practice squad).

Two kickers are still active: Sebastian Janikowski(Oakland) and Graham Gano(Washington).

That is 28 players currently in the league and the number should probably be closer to 40 for a program like FSU. With the way Coach Fisher is running this program, we will back there in no time.
