What the Recruits are Saying

Two weeks into the college football season see what the recruits are saying about who they have been impressed with and who may have disappointed.

2012 Running Back Tysean Holloway 6-0 and 185 pounds, Ashville (NC) Ashville HS:

"The top 25 ranked teams all have so many places to fill including Florida, Oklahoma and now Carolina. Boise State was team that flew under the radar and they are a lot better than I thought. Virginia Tech, Miami and Florida State aren't as good was what I thought but that is what recruiting is for."

2011 Running Back J.J. Keels 5-9 and 185 pounds, Melbourne (FL) Air Academy HS:

"Boise State definitely surprised me with their success so far in the BCS and Virginia Tech is a team I did not see any of this happening to."

2012 Defensive Tackle Dalvon Stuckey 6-3 and 300 pounds, Defuniak Springs (FL) Walton Senior HS:

"Virginia Tech is not as good as I thought and Michigan surprised the hell out of me but this will be a classic season."

"Janoris Jenkins surprised me this weekend and I have watched him and Ahmad Black from Florida and just the way they play and the things they do on the field surprised me how good they do it."

"Well Alabama is still Alabama and Kentucky, Mississippi State and Auburn have all been surprises."

2011 Defensive End Steven Dillon 6-3 and 260 pounds, Palmdale (CA) HS:

"I thought UCLA was going to be great this year after the good recruiting class but they are young but you can only use that excuse once and I knew Cal was good but I saw them blow out UC-Davis and Colorado from the Big 12 which is a tough conference."

2011 Safety/Linebacker Denzel Perryman 5-11 and 205 pounds, Coral Gables (FL) HS:

"The way some schools won the first week and then lost the second week like Miami, Notre Dame and Florida State. That surprised me but they all played tough games."

2013 Running Back Adam Lane 5-9, 200 pounds, Winter Haven ( FL) Senior HS:

"I would say that the Gators are starting off slow but they w will get back to where they were and I feel like Rutgers has stepped their game up a lot."

"I think Ohio State has a solid team. They can go all the way and I expected Miami to be better."

2012 Defensive Back Carlson Milikin 6-1 and 180 pounds, Woodberry Forest (VA):

"Virginia Tech has been disappointing. Florida has won but needs to play four good quarters. Alabama looks unstoppable and the Michigan QB is a great surprise. I wish Florida could have landed him."

2011 Offensive Lineman Tyler Knowles 6-6 and 275 pounds, Katy (TX) Cinco Ranch HS:

"Texas has disappointed me. I really liked Oregon's play so far. Ole Miss disappointed me as well. I thought SMU has fought hard and so has Houston."

2011 Linebacker Miles Pace 6-0 and 235 pounds, Miami (FL) Central HS:

"I have not had a chance to watch that many games because we played out of town but I am not happy with Virginia Tech."

2011 Safety Chris Johnson 5-11 190 pounds, Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic HS:

"South Carolina is looking really good and they have been very impressive. Alabama has looked good even without Mark Ingram. The Gators defense looks great and the offense needs to pick it up a bit."

2011 Linebacker Stephone Anthony 6-3, 225 pounds, Wadesboro (NC) Anson fresh off a 26-8 win this past weekend. Anthony is set to make his official visit to the University of Florida when LSU comes to town.

2011 Safety Calvin Pryor 6-2 185 pounds, Port St. Joe (FL) HS:

"South Carolina and Oregon are both looking very good. A team that has let me down is Florida with their sluggish play in these beginning games."

"Michigan has my former teammate J.T. Floyd who is balling and Florida isn't looking very good and we are going to upset them."

2011 Running Back Eric Scott 6-0, 175 pounds, Washington (GA) Wilkes HS:

"South Carolina's running back Marcus Lattimore impressed me and the quarterback from Georgia. I was upset about the way Georgia and Georgia Tech started off their season's but there is more football left and they have a chance to pick it up."

2011 Cornerback Chris Dukes 5-9, 165 pounds, Cincinnati (OH) Colerain HS:

"Utah has surprised me."

2012 Jordan Jenkins 6-3, 235 pounds, Hamilton (GA) Harris County HS:

Father - Mr. Ronald Jenkins:

"Surprise is how Georgia is struggling on defense with a new defensive coordinator. GT offense and defense getting off to such a slow start and getting beat by Kansas. Florida looks quick on offense and defense. Surprised at Florida being ranked so high. I thought Georgia and Georgia Tech would be undefeated right now. Alabama is looking real good on defense. Jordan is still figuring out playing under a new defense playing in a three man line. He feels better being on the edge making plays. Facing a lot more double teams in the new defense but his tackles are up with sacks starting to pick up."

2011 Defensive End Clay Burton 6-4, 250 pounds, Venice (FL) HS:

"Virginia Tech has definitely let me down and the Gators are very underrated and I am proud of my Irish for fighting back and showing a lot of heart."

2012 Athlete Ricardo Louis 6-2, 200 pounds, Miami Beach (FL) Senior HS:

"Well the team that improved and is really good is Oregon, the team whose performance I dislike is Virginia Tech. The team who let me down is Miami but they are still one of my favorite schools."

2012 Wideout Chris Black 5-11, 180 pounds, Jacksonville (FL) First Coast HS:

"So far I have only seen a few games mainly SEC teams. Florida is starting to shape up compared to their first game. Florida State is looking pretty good but I was not shocked they lost but I thought they would do better than what they did but to me the team still has a lot of potential. I was surprised with the Georgia/South Carolina game I kind of thought Georgia would win. Alabama is great just as I thought and Miami is pretty good."

2012 Defensive/Offensive Tackle Omari Phillips 6-6, 280 pounds, Venice (FL) HS:

"I haven't really been watching but South Florida's defense s surprised me with their speed and I loved Florida's defense. I rated my trip to Florida a 9 and my favorite part was speaking with Coach Meyer, Addazio and McCarney."

2012 Quarterback A.J. Doyle 6-3, 230 pounds West Roxbury (MA) Catholic Memorial HS:

"Florida's offense seems to be struggling a little bit but seems like they are getting better and Virginia Tech has disappointed me but I really like the way Boise State played and Oregon."

2012 Defensive Tackle Nigel Williams 6-5, 260 pounds Richmond (VA) Benedictine HS:

"Virginia Tech has been coming to a slow start with their loss to James Madison which was a shocked to everyone from up here and possibly everywhere. Virginia has shown some good views with their new coaching staff after their tight defensive play vs. USV."

2011 Linebacker Lamar Dawson 6-3, 240 pounds, Danville (KY) Boyle County HS:

2012 Offensive Lineman Duaron Williams 6-3, 300 pounds, Orlando (FL) Jones HS:

"Miami is looking real good even with the loss to Ohio State. Florida is looking real good especially on the defensive side of the ball with Jay Howard (graduate from my high school) but the team that surprised me the most was Florida State. I think all three teams will have an awesome year."

2012 Defensive Back Travis Blanks 6-,1 180 pounds, Tallahassee (FL) North Florida Christian HS:

"Alabama, Florida State, Florida and Miami are all good as expected besides the fact they all have yo
