Mental Errors Plague Gator D

Florida linebacker Jelani Jenkins says mental errors were the downfall of Florida in their 31-6 loss against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Jenkins came away with six tackles and a quarterback hurry but he felt he and his defensive counterparts made crucial mistakes. Jenkins said those mistakes created a domino effect that plagued the Gators for much of the game.

Jelani Jenkins talked about how difficult it is to tackle 'Bama's star running backs Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. He also discussed the atmosphere in Bryant-Denny Stadium and how it was to play on such a big stage for the first time.

Jenkins is one of the quickest linebackers in Florida's starting lineup. He used his speed and power to make some stops against Alabama's offensive fury but he said there's no denying the Gator D came up short. Jenkins talked about what they had seen on film of Alabama running the wildcat with Marquis Maze at the quarterback spot. He said they should have seen that coming but it just seemed like Alabama was one step ahead...
