Top 13 -- Week 6

The Gators let one get away while the Seminoles had their most impressive win in years. Alabama gets knocked from the top spot and we still have three BCS busters in the top.

And who on earth thought Michigan State would be 6-0?

With that, here is our weekly ranking of the nation's top 13 teams.

1. Ohio State
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Nebraska
5. Boise State

6. Oklahoma
7. Alabama
8. Auburn
9. Utah
10. LSU

11. South Carolina
12. Michigan State
13. Arkansas/FSU

And for our weekly dubious achievement awards:

Cody Jones ---- Tennessee --- The boys from Rocky Top showed some signs of life last week in almost knocking off LSU. They followed that up with a 41-14 shellacking at the hands of a Georgia team that had lost four straight games. Nice.

Laura McKeeman ---- Auburn's Defensive Scheme --- The Tiger D is incredibly vulnerable against quickness and speed and they can't seem to stop any elite playmakers. They gave up 336 yards to Kentucky, which is actually 100 less than their average. Those who chant "War Eagle" are fortunate that no one has figured out how to tackle Cam Newton yet.

Bob Redman ---- Randy Shannon --- The Miami coach spent all summer telling everyone how Miami was back and got a nice extension as well. They seemed to have more horses than Florida State, but looked rather inept facing their arch-rival. Miami threw the ball 49 times and completed just 20. They also gave up an astounding 298 rushing yards to FSU.

Larry Vettel ---- Florida's FG defense unit --- Two weeks after falling asleep and letting Kentucky score an uncontested TD, this unit flushed a possible victory by failing to guard against a fake in the final minute of the LSU game. Florida has not come close to blocking a kick from off the corner all year, so why on earth are they charging in from the outside?

That's this week's poll. Next week's schedule is another good one with Arkansas @ Auburn, Ohio State @ Wisconsin and Texas @ Nebraska among other matchups.
