Young Focusing on Defense

Florida power forward Patric Young is already receiving comparisons to Dwight Howard and he hasn't even played a college game yet. Young is an absolute beast at 6-8, 215 pounds and he said he is ready to get onto the court and help his team.

Patric Young is a powerful dunker and even showed off some of his skills at Florida basketball's media day shooting around with teammates. He presents great size and skill to challenge senior Vernon Macklin in practice and he talked about the challenges Macklin has given him as well.

Patric Young said he is drawing from advice given to him by experienced players Alex Tyus and Vernon Macklin. Young said he loves a role comprised mostly of defense. This role is very similar to Al Horford's role as a freshman and is incredibly valuable to Billy Donovan. Young said he doesn't mind working hard defensively and will do whatever is asked of him.
