Parsons Excited About Gators' Depth

The Florida men's basketball team enters their upcoming season with something they haven't had in a while: depth. While this means something to freshmen players, veteran guys are especially thankful for the addition of talent that can come off the bench and add meaningful minutes. One thankful senior is Chandler Parsons who is going into this season with very high expectations.

Chandler Parsons made it very clear that he expects nothing less than a national championship from a team that has everything in front of them and nothing proven on a court in 2010-2011.

Parsons was one of last season's most improved players and enters this year with a tough standard to beat. Still, he said he isn't getting complacent. Parsons talked about his goals for the team and his personal goals to continue to improve. He said he will have the confidence to make the game winning shot if needed but he hopes added depth will allow Florida to distance themselves from opponents earlier in games.

Parsons also talked about the expectations he had for himself and his team when he got to Florida. He admits it has been a relatively extended rebuilding process for his team after losing talent to the NBA but he feels Billy Donovan finally has the depth, skill and playmakers to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
