Taurean Green isn't the power inside player his father was, but he's a very good point guard. In fact, good enough to already have an offer from Ohio State. Louisville, Florida, Florida State, Connecticut, Miami, Syracuse and Indiana have shown interest.
This past season was Green's first at Bradenton's IMG Academy. The intensive skill-based programs at IMG focus on individual player development but this year the school also fielded a team.
"Our basketball team went 21-2," Green said. "After the season, all we do is train." Kids from all over the country attend IMG and the school doesn't play for a state championship, though Green is particularly excited about playing a national level schedule next season.
In the meantime, he's really enjoying the individual instruction he receives on a daily basis. "We go in groups of four for individual instruction and we do drills. After that we play 2-on-2 and use the skills we learned in the drills. I'm developing mentally and physically as a player."
Green said his father serves as an advisor but the college decision falls on his shoulders. "He's going to let it flow and listen to what I have to say. He's going to be there though and everything is going to go through my mom.
"I just want to go to a school where I can come in right away, contribute and win games."
