Florida Struggles Again in the Second Half

Florida squeezed out a 61-55 win against Morehead State Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't pretty by any means. The Eagles out-rebounded the Gators 41 to 36 and were able to make a strong push in the second half. Florida held Morehead St. to just 17 points in the first half and then allowed them to score 17 in the first seven minutes of the second half.

Florida got its money's worth from Morehead St. forward Kenneth Faried who leaves Gainesville with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Erving Walker led the Orange and Blue with 16 points and Chandler Parsons was close behind with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Billy Donovan liked what he saw from his team in the first half but, once again, was not impressed with the fall off that happened in the second half.

Chandler Parsons talked about what they got from Faried and how hard he was to deal with. Parsons said they have to focus better in the second half and finish what they start if they want to avoid losses down the stretch. Parsons said a win is a win but this one was ugly.

Erving Walker talked about Florida's inability to come out strong in the second half and says it's been a problem for this team for three years. He says they have to "keep working" in order to fix it.
