Once again, the Florida basketball team got off to a slow start scoring just 34 points in the first half and leading FAU by just two. UF was able to get it done with a 79-66 victory but it wasn't easy or pretty.
Billy Donovan said he is looking forward to getting his guys back to the practice floor to correct mistakes that haven't been attended to with such a close stretch of games in recent days. Kenny Boynton
led the points' effort for Florida
with 21 and Alex Tyus
had a season-high 19 behind Boynton. Vernon Macklin
came away with a career-high 11 rebounds despite a nagging knee injury and Erving Walker
matched his career-high with five steals.
Walker talked about what FAU was able to do in the first half and how Donovan was pleased with his team's effort in the second half. Walker said his team isn't playing "terrible" but they aren't where they need to be in a few areas.
Vernon Macklin said his knee injury is annoying to deal with but not too devastating and he doesn't want to stay off the floor if possible.
Kenny Boynton talked about defensive adjustments that UF made in the second half to secure the win.
