"Yea, coach Saban was here so I couldn't watch coach Meyer's press conference about stepping down. Coach Saban just talked to me about how they need me there and how he wants me to commit."
A.C. Leonard, a four-star TE, says he is still processing the news that Urban Meyer won't be the head coach at Florida.
"I don't even know what to say. I mean I hope he gets better. His health is more important than football. I just need a week or two to think about it."
Leonard may have a week or two to think, but he doesn't have much more time on his hands as he plans on enrolling early at Florida or wherever else he could end up. Leonard says he understands time is of the essence here.
"I don't have too much time. It's crazy. I thought I had it all planned out and all."
As of right now, however, Leonard says he's still strong with his decision to be a gator.
"I'm still a gator. I'm not going to give up just because coach Meyer is gone. I talked to Jeff Driskel today and we decided we will stick together with this. We want to see who the new head coach is but we aren't just going to give up and go somewhere else right now. I will wait and see for sure who they bring in but I'll be really happy if Scot Loeffler (QB Coach) and Brian White (TE Coach) are still there."
Leonard is already thinking about the future and paying attention to some rumblings about possible head coaches that could be his coach in the future.
"I heard about Dan Mullen maybe. I like him a lot. He recruited me starting in 9th grade and he's great. He would be really cool. I also heard Charlie Strong. Coach Strong is funny and awesome but I don't know if he would leave Louisville after just one year."
